    I love this place. Always busy when the snowbirds are in town, and for good reason. Good old fashioned comfort food with good old fashioned service.

    My compliments to Carl, well done.

    BTW. I had the Reuben Sandwich today. Fantastic.

    We showed up on a Sunday night about an hour before closing on a weird weekend where some rock show was happening- so they were packed. Unfortunately for us. I made my husband wait to eat when we could have stopped anywhere sooner, we choose here. One hour after arriving some very mediocre food finally hit the table.
    While I appreciate the waitress trying to be nice about it. We had a 5 hour drive, so I can't appreciate the huge wait. Maybe she could have warned us when she took our order. I got a soup and sandwich. Husband got an omelette. Nothing really tasted good considering how long I waited and as hungry as I became.
    If we get off this exit again, we wouldn't return. I enjoyed Carls jr more when we stopped there on our last trip and I would try anyplace else first over returning.

    This place is AWESOME! I might be being a little dramatic because I was only amused by the books left on the tables. They were definitely intriguing. I now know that I'm officially a geezer at heart!!! Man you got to read these books, they sale them for $8 and I swear it'll be worth it. Only if you have a hilarious dumb sense of humor otherwise you're boring and you won't find it magical.

    On to the food.
    Unfortunately it wasn't good. The only thing I enjoyed were the onion rings and ranch. BUT I can get those anywhere.. the waitress Carol was super duper sweet and very helpful. I would give her 5 stars but this is off the food. Which wasn't good. Sorry.

    Everything about this old diner was a "3", but they were super busy and everyone was working hard and doing their best, and the coffee and smiles never stopped. What sealed the deal was when I went to the men's room and the urinal was plumbed in with a piece of garden hose. Classic!

    Stopped to get jerky and McDonalds. But decided to walk over here instead. I got the cheese burger with sweet potato fries. It was very good. Daughter got the classic burger with regular fries. The buns were soft and yummy. Greay sweet potato fries. Service a bit slow. Waitress checked on us once. So no refills. Prices very reasonable.
